Forces in guy ropes

The calculator counts the forces exerted by the wind which influence the guywire and the mast itself. It is possible to enter the „area” of an antenna either in numerical value or you can enter the number of elements and their diameters. You can also choose a typical antenna from the template. In the end, you will be provided with results which take into consideration different directions of effecting wind and the alternatives of guying in three or four different directions. We have to make sure that you know that in this case we really take only the forces exerted by the wind into account in such calculations – as a matter of fact the weight of an antenna and the construction as a whole also impact the stability of masts. The icing is not taken into account as well, however, the icing can cause even two times larger area of the antenna exposed to the wind, in extreme conditions even up to three times more than original area. Moreover, the icing makes the whole construction heavier.
